SURE will visit the Narcisi Winery at 4578 Gibsonia Road (PA Route 910), Gibsonia, PA for a 90-minute guided tour and six sample wine tasting on Thursday, September 28 at 11:00 am.
Founded in 2001, Narcisi Winery is a family-owned and operated winery located just 10 miles north of Pittsburgh. Nestled within the beautiful rolling hills of Western PA, the winery will draw you back to a setting reminiscent of a Tuscan villa, where time and worries dissolve into the countryside.
The winery is a state-of-the-art facility combining Old World wine-making traditions with modern technology. All grapes are harvested from local, Pennsylvania vineyards and processed exclusively with stainless steel equipment and tanks.
The Narcisi wine-making process is focused on naturally preserving the true character of the grape through the use of natural methods of wine making such as minimal filtration and the addition of very few sulfites, and other preservatives.
Narcisi Winery produces 35,000 gallons, or 175,000 bottles of wine a year ranging from complex, dry red wines, to sweet fruit wines. All wine processing from crushing to fermenting to bottling is done in house.
The cost is $25 a person and advanced registration is required. There is a limit of 32 for this event, but a wait list will be maintained if that number is exceeded.
An optional (not included) lunch following the tour at the winery’s restaurant is planned.
Special Thanks to SURE member Dave Kitch for arranging this tour.
