Westinghouse SURE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Westinghouse SURE, 641 Braddock Avenue, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112
The Beaver plant was formerly part of the Westinghouse Low Voltage Circuit Breaker Division and produced molded case circuit breakers (MCCB).
Eaton Electrical purchased the Westinghouse Distribution and Controls Business Unit in 1994 which was one of Eaton's largest acquisitions. The acquisition included all of the Westinghouse electrical distribution and control product business and also included stipulations that the Westinghouse name cannot be used by anyone else on these types of products for years. Today, Eaton Electrical manufactures electrical distribution and control products branded "Eaton" or "Cutler-Hammer", which can replace Westinghouse products in commercial and industrial applications.
Products made at Eaton Beaver include Navy Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) and large MCCBs. We will tour the manufacturing area (shop floor) and the tour duration will be about an hour. Please arrive before 9:45 am.
An optional lunch at Frank G’s Place (www.frankgsplace.com) on the river at 500 Market Street in Bridgewater, PA (about 10-15 minutes from the plant) is planned following the tour.
Carpooling is strongly recommended since there is very limited parking in the visitor's lot at the plant. Please indicate your desire to carpool and, if so, your city/town and zip code during the registration process. We will try to match up those willing to carpool by their locations.
Special Thanks to SURE member Steve Swencki and Bhushan Patil of Eaton for arranging this tour.
Please contact Dave Altman (412) 605-8617 should you have any questions.
