October 30 - The Current War movie

  • 30-Oct-2019
  • 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Cinemark 18 - Pittsburgh Mills Mall, Tarentum, PA

Registration is closed

Please join fellow SURE members and guests next Wednesday October 30 to enjoy the 1:50 pm matinee screening of The Current War.  This movie is the story of the battle between George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison to determine whether AC or DC current would be established as the means of transmitting electricity over long distances.

The movie was released today and is in limited distribution in the Pittsburgh area. It is not sure whether the movie will be shown after next Wednesday when the theaters announce their films for the following week (10/31/19 to 11/06/19).

Pittsburgh Mills is located adjacent to PA Route 28 (Pittsburgh Mills Boulevard exit) in the vicinity of Springdale and Harmarville.  It is near the Allegheny Valley interchange (exit 48) of the PA Turnpike (follow signs to PA Route 28 north).

Attendees will purchase their own tickets at the theater.  The cost is $7.00 and there is no senior discount.  We can meet as a group in the lobby at 1:30 pm.

There are several chain restaurants in the Pittsburgh Mills complex.  If there is enough interest, we may arrange to meet SURE members for a noon time lunch.

Please register if you would like to attend so we can identify who is coming and determine the size of the SURE group.
